Hi! My name is Mirai Michaels. I am ten years old and live in Brooklyn with my mom. I have autism, which makes some things a bit tricky for me, but also helps me see the world in a special way!

Ever since I learned how to hold a pencil, my mom encouraged me to draw my thoughts and label them. This is how I started communicating. Drawing helps me express what I feel and think. I might struggle with being social, but I love to share my art with the world.

I hope that my illustrations will encourage other kids to love art and going to school as much as I do. Maybe they will see that everyone is special in their own way, just like my favorite teachers always tell me.
